Donate or discard anything you have not used in over a year and think carefully about what you decide to keep and how you will store it because if it’s not stored properly the next time you take stock you may end up tossing it all anyway.

Plastic storage containers can help to keep things dry as long as they are dry when they go into the container – don’t store damp bedding or fabrics of any kind because they will harbor mold and mildew. Storing throw pillows or other bulky items like comforters is easy when you use a pop-up hamper – the hamper allows air to circulate and the hampers fold flat for easy storage when not in use.
